MEET BELLA

San Diego Makeup Artist

Hey, I'm Isabella but you can call me Bells!

Woman with red hair in a black dress and tights sits on a chair, looking at the camera with a slight smile. Dark background.

Hi, I’m Bella! and yes,
Lo Coco is my real last name. (hehe)

My commitment as an artist has always been to have my clients leaving my chair feeling and looking their absolute BEST. I’ve worked in cosmetic retail, I know the saga of makeup counter nightmares where you rush home in a panic just itching to wash the makeup off your face.

I love effortless looking makeup, I love collaborating with my clients on looks, I love hearing your thoughts and opinions. When you look good, you feel good! Making you feel comfortable and confident is my top priority.

A brief timeline of events:

A makeup artist applies lipstick to a woman sitting in a chair in a bright studio. The makeup artist is standing and wearing a black dress.

This is the year that I was introduced to the world of bridal and landed my first ever job as an assistant makeup artist to two of San Diego’s most well known MUA’s in the game!

2021 was the year that changed a lot for me. I worked over 60 weddings as an assistant artist and absolutely fell in love with the idea of becoming a bridal makeup artist! My eyes were opened to an entirely new world of makeup.

Since at the time the majority of artists were specializing in more “full glam” styled looks, this was the time that inspired me to bring that natural, editorial style of makeup that I love so much to the bridal industry.

2024

Fast forward to 2024 I am here, ready to deep dive into my first year as a full time artist! (pinch me!)

2018

20yr old Bella works at Nordstrom with Dior Beauty. This is where I developed my love for that editorial, natural, “model makeup” style seen in most high-fashion shows and advertisements.

2019

Bella enrolls herself into City College to study as an Esthetician and expand her knowledge as a beauty professional. (Side note: there’s a crazy story to go along with this one, but I’ll save that for when we meet! LOL)

2020

20yr old Bella works at Nordstrom with Dior Beauty. This is where I developed my love for that editorial, natural, “model makeup” style seen in most high-fashion shows and advertisements.

2021

BEYOND THE GLAM...

- I love any kind of miniature size trinkets and currently have a collection consisting of mini perfumes, mini art supplies, mini makeup and more!

- My favorite food is sushi! I can literally eat it every single day.

- I come from a very large, very loud Sicilian family. Family and culture are very important to me.

- I am very much addicted to iced coffee. Rain, shine or snow, iced coffee 4 everrrr!

FAQs

Is it true I need more makeup in order for it to last or show in photos?

Depending on your skin type or weather conditions, yes, there are times when a bit more makeup will be required if you want your makeup to last all day and all night!

For example, if you’re getting married in the middle of the summer and have more of an oily skin type, I can’t send you off with a super sheer tinted moisturizer and expect it to last all day. It will melt off. It just is what it is so here’s the thing:

If you are working with an artist who specializes in natural makeup, that artist is going to understand how to properly prep your skin as well as work in light layers to achieve a look that WILL last while looking undetectable.

As an artist, It’s all about being intentional with the products you use, where you use them and why you are using them. Yes sometimes you might need a bit more but more does not automatically = cakey as long as you’ve booked with an artist who understands this.

Are you available for airbrush makeup?

Nope! I do not offer any airbrush makeup services.

Why do artists require a minimum?

Most artists require a minimum payment or service number during busy seasons and/or weekends and the reason why is simple. For most of us, this is our full time job. This is how we make a living. There are high demand dates/locations and it is important to keep policies fair and equal to all clients reaching out. These are our rates and policies for specific seasons. Ultimately, the investment in a skilled bridal makeup artist contributes significantly to the bride’s overall experience and confidence on her wedding day!

Are you able to style my hair as well?

Nope, I specialize only in makeup services but I can definitely hook you up with some wonderful and very talented hair stylists!

Why Natural Styled Makeup?

Natural bridal makeup emphasizes your unique beauty rather than covering it up. It’s about enhancing your features with a subtle, refined touch that allows you to shine without looking overdone. My approach ensures you look like yourself, only more radiant and refined.

What brands of makeup do you use in your kit?

I use a wide variety of different makeup products and brands! An artist’s kit is completely personal. If you’d like to take a peek at my kit, check out my Instagram page (@bellalococobeauty) where I frequently post photos and videos of my tool box!

Here’s a list of some of my most used makeup brands:

Charlotte Tilbury

Hourglass Cosmetics

Patrick Ta

NARS

I noticed you mentioned you have booking minimums for weekend weddings. If I can’t meet the minimum amount of services but still would like to book, what are my options?

Not a problem at all!

If you are still interested in having me as your bridal makeup artist but won’t be able to reach the 5 service minimum here are some options:

Let’s say you’re not having any bridesmaids, I personally recommend asking family or friends if they’d like to get their makeup done. A lot of brides think that the makeup services are for bridal party members only but that’s definitely not true! Anyone can get their makeup done just as long as you feel comfortable having them a part of your getting ready process.

Another option, as listed, is booking with the minimum service payment. For weddings Friday- Sunday I have a $1,150.00 service minimum so let’s just say only mob, mog and your maid of honor want makeup along with you (4 services total) that’s completely fine! If only you would like your makeup done, that works as well!

KIND WORDS

“Bella is an absolute gem! Not only is she incredibly talented and knowledgeable, but she also has the best energy! Every time she does my makeup, I feel like the best version of myself. She has a way of enhancing my natural features that leaves me feeling like my best self without ever looking overdone. Her attention to detail and passion for her craft really show in her work. I couldn’t have imagined anyone else making me feel as beautiful as I did on my wedding day!”
